We offer a varied assortment of reclaimed and by-product fibers from the silk industry, as well as silk cocoons. Each fiber has its own characteristics and range of uses as described below.
-Recycled Silk Fibers, 4oz or 8oz bag
Little clumps of color and will have the most varied colors and textures per bag. These basic silk fibers are great for carding with other fibers, wet felting, needle felting, quilting techniques, and for use with an embellisher.
-Premium Silk Fibers, 4oz or 8oz bag
Long lustrous strands that can be cut into shorter bits and carded alone or with other fibers. These longer fibers are also used for wet felting, doll hair, needle felting, embroidery, and with an embellisher.
-Silk Thrums, 8oz bag only
Small skein-like bundles of fine silk thrums with the woven sari fabric attached. These luscious fibers can be cut from the fabric and spun, used with any of the above mentioned techniques, or divided and used for stitching.
