I love mesh stitches for summer garments, but wanted this cowl to have structure. By starting and ending with a hemmed edge, the mesh blooms within the crisp framework of hemmed edges. A stockinette section worked on smaller needles divides the two sections and defines the tiers.
Yarn: Wonderland Yarns “Mad Hatter Blossoms” sport weight, 344 yards/4 oz skein; 100% superwash merino: 1 cake: shown in “Gulf Fritillary Butterfly”
Needles & Notions: US size 7/ 4.5mm needles, AND US size 9/5.5mm needles OR size needed to get proper gauge, stitch marker, darning needle
Gauge: 14 sts & 20 rounds = 4" in mesh pattern on larger needles, after blocking
Measurements: 29"/73.5 cm around at top hem, 38"/96.5 cm around at bottom hem, 15"/38 cm tall, blocked
