Mehri Mesh shawl

Summer knitting, for me, is mesh knitting — open and airy. Worked on 8s with oodles of yarn-overs, this shawl works up quickly, so even stolen moments of knitting give gratification. One meaning of “Mehri” is “radiant sunshine”—a lovely name for a lovely summer shawl.

Yarn: Wonderland Yarns “Mad Hatter Blossoms” sport weight, 344 yards/4 oz cake; 100% superwash merino: 1 cake: shown in “Indian Babul Blue Butterfly”

Needles & Notions: US size 8/ 5mm needles, 24"/60cm or size needed to get proper gauge, darning needle, blocking pins

Gauge: 14 sts & 20 rows = 4" in mesh pattern, before blocking

Measurements: 64"/162.5 cm across top edge, 17.5"/45 cm at widest point, blocked
