This dramatic square motif was inspired by Anna Karenina’s desires to break traditions and society’s expectations in the novel by Tolstoy. This design features a series of eyelets that start at the center and —round-by-round — break free to the edge.

Yarn: 1 skein of Wonderland Yarns “Mad Hatter” sport weight, 100% superwash merino: 344 yards/4 oz skein. This square motif takes about 1 oz of yarn; 1 skein should produce 3 squares with a remainder left to save for joining.
Hooks & Notions: US G-6/4 mm crochet hook, yarn needle, blocking pins & mats
Gauge: 4" x 3" = First 7 rounds of pattern
Measurements: each square is 8.5" on all edges (blocked)
