This week's FREE PATTERN: Who-Dunnit Cowl

With your contrasting color mini skeins and Clue-themed charts, you’ll craft a truly unique infinity cowl that tells your own story. Whether you prefer to wear it as a single wrap for a cozy accessory or double it up for extra warmth and flair, this project invites you to knit a playful mystery. Let your creativity run wild and turn this simple cowl pattern into a one-of-a-kind masterpiece!

Yarn: Wonderland Yarns “Mary Ann” fingering/sock weight, 85% superwash merino & 15% nylon Kit includes 8, 1 oz mini skeins, 118 yds each (CC) & 2, 4 oz skeins, 475 yds (MC)

Choosing & Using Colors: The two full skeins are the MC and the 8 mini skeins are the CC. Mix and match and use the contrasting colors however you like, keeping in mind you don’t have to stick to typical colors, for example the cat could be blue. Have fun with it!

Needles & Notions: US size 5/3.75mm — we recommend a 16"/40cm circular needle (or size required to get gauge), spare needle in gauge size for working Kitchener closing, darning needle, stitch markers to mark repeats — one in a unique color to mark the start of the round, waste yarn for provisional cast-on Gauge: 32 sts & 32 rounds = 4"/10cm in colorwork pattern

Sizes & Measurements: 9"/ 23cm wide when measured laying flat (18.75"/47.5cm circumference) & length is up to you — a single-wrap cowl could measure 20-30"/51-76 cm and a double-wrap cowl could measure 70-80"/178-203cm. There is enough yardage for either option or for two shorter cowls.

Techniques: provisional cast-on, Kitchener stitch, colorwork in the round

Using the charts: This pattern is written to accompany the Clue card deck — 18 charts (6 people, 6 weapons, 6 rooms). All of the charts are designed to work with the cast-on stitch count.
