Broken Pillars Shawl

A bit of magic, a bit of drape, and this shawl is perfect for using that special skein of fingering weight from your stash! This elegant asymmetric shawl is broken into repeating sections, with the stitch work echoing elements from items found in the ‘Lord of the Rings’ trilogy. 

PROJECT LEVEL: Easy (project includes simple stitch patterns, color work, and/or shaping)

MATERIALS:

Yarn: 1 skein of Wonderland Yarns “Cheshire Cat” light fingering weight, 100% superwash merino: 512 yards/4 oz skein; shown on Limited Edition ‘Rivendell’ colorway

Hooks & Notions: US F-5/3.75 mm crochet hook, scissors, blocking pins & mats, yarn needle

Gauge: 4” x 4” = *tc 2 into ch sp, ch 1,* repeat 7 times, tc 2 (16 tc and 7 ch-1 sts) x 12 rows of the Broken Pillars section 

Measurements: 45” on the straight edge, 42” along the bottom, and 52” along the increase side (after blocking).
