    Garden Serenade Infinity Scarf

I was the sample knitter of this lovely cowl. The pattern is well written and it is a glorious knit as there is no time to get bored. There are a couple of areas where three colors are used for a couple of rounds but most of the colorwork is only two colors. Enjoy knitting this! It is worth your time.

Description

This colorwork infinity scarf features repeating flowers and leaf motifs that dance around this squishy, cozy design. It’s knit in the round with stranded colorwork, then seamed to create a continuous loop. Choose from two versatile versions — a wider, single-wrap or longer, double-wrap. Beginning colorwork knitters will appreciate the repetition of the geometric design, while the angles and movement provide a fun challenge for a more experience knitter.

Yarn: Wonderland Yarns “Mad Hatter” sport weight, 100% superwash merino: 8, 1 oz mini skeins, 86 yds each (C 1-8) & 1, 4 oz skein, 344 yds (MC) (see note)

Note: This cowl uses every bit of MC. Ensure that your gauge is correct and keep your swatch in case you need to reclaim the yarn. To be on the safe side, you may wish to have 2 skeins of MC.

Main Color: “Gravelwalk” (MC)

Mini Color Collection: “Puzzle & Ponder”

Stripes: 2 colors/minis (dark purple (C1) for the outer border & the dark magenta (C2) for the inner border)
Leaves & Vines: 2 colors/minis (2 greens (C4 & C5))
Flowers: 2 colors/minis (dark teal (C3) and (dark red (C7))
Flower Center & Sparkles: 2 color(s)/mini(s) (dark gold (C6) with the dark teal (C3), dark orange (C8) with the dark red (C7))

Needles & Notions: US size 6/4mm — we recommend a 16"/40cm circular needle (or size required to get gauge), spare needle in gauge size for working Kitchener closing, darning needle, stitch markers to mark repeats — one in a unique color to mark the start of the round, waste yarn for provisional cast-on

Gauge: 24 sts & 21 rounds = 4"/10cm in colorwork pattern

Sizes & Measurements:
1. 108 sts & 2 repeats: Our sample shown, wide and ample. It is snug if double-wrapped. Length: 40"/102cm, width: 9"/23cm (measured flat)

2. 72 sts & 3 repeats: A narrower cowl, more suited for being double-wrapped. length: 60"/152cm, width: 6"/15cm (measured flat)

Techniques used: provisional cast-on, Kitchener stitch, colorwork
