Mesh-enger Shawl

This shawl pattern is worked on the bias with a unique asymmetrical shape and mesh striping. It is surprisingly uncomplicated to knit up. Use one full-size skein of “Mad Hatter” and two mini-skeins, or choose two skeins of your favorite contrasting colors of Mad Hatter.

Work the full pattern for a large shawl, or omit the last repeat for a shawlette.

Yarn:

Wonderland Yarns “Mad Hatter” sport weight 4 oz/344 yard skein: 1 skein (MC), AND 1 oz skein/86 yards: 2 skeins (CC)

OR 1 Mini Skein Pack of “Mad Hatter” 430 yds.

Needles & Notions:

US size 8 circular needles, 30” or longer to accommodate stitches

Gauge:

17 sts & 40 rows = 4” in garter stitch before blocking

Measurements:

Approximately 72” wingspan and 20” depth at center after blocking.
