Care Instructions

Care Instructions

Most of our yarns are superwash wool, which means they’re designed for easier care — no felting surprises here!

  • Washing: Hand-wash gently in cool water. You can also use the delicate cycle in your machine if it’s truly gentle.
  • Soap: We recommend a small amount of mild shampoo or your favorite wool wash. A touch of hair conditioner works beautifully to keep fibers soft and silky.
  • Rinsing: Rinse in cool water, being careful not to agitate.
  • Drying: Press out excess water with a towel (no wringing or twisting). Lay flat to dry, reshaping your project as needed.
Tip: Treat your handmade pieces with the same care you’d give a favorite wool sweater or scarf — a little gentleness goes a long way!

Description

Meet our SplitShades Gradient Blossom Cakes — sock blanks that are carefully hand-dyed, then wound into ready-to-use cakes. Designed to pair perfectly with our Scenescape motif patterns, these cakes bring scenes like city skylines and cemetery gates to life with ease.

Each cake is worked from both ends, featuring contrasting shades that melt into a smooth, soft fade creating a beautiful, dynamic background for your colorwork.

Every Gradient Blossom Cake includes a QR code and website link, so you can instantly access a coordinating pattern.

Our sumptuously next-to-skin soft yarn is available exclusively on Mary Ann sock/fingering or Mad Hatter sport, both are 4oz cakes.

Solara Bells is a bold, high-contrast blend of fiery red, ember orange, and golden yellow fading into deep charcoal and near-black. One cake moves from bright flame tones to dark, while the other reverses it for a striking, dramatic effect.
