This head wrap can easily be knit in an evening, making it a great last-minute gift; or as a quick project for taking a break from a longer one. Opt to knit longer or shorter ties, and check the fit as you go. It's simple to knit (and the rows short) for instant gratification!
Use a Blossoms yarn that morphs in color and knit this simple head wrap — a cake will yield 2 to 3, each a different color. With extra length for tying, it can be worn many different ways.
Yarn: Wonderland Yarns “Mad Hatter Blossom” sport weight, 344 yards/4 oz skein; 100% superwash merino: 1 cake: shown in limited edition color “Algues”
Note: If you get the correct gauge, it is possible to make three headscarves from one cake as outlined below—but just barely. Our sample used 113 yds. If you are planning to make three, you may wish to make one of them a bit shorter to ensure you have enough yarn. Instead of knitting to 26"/66 cm (at rows 17 & 18) work until you have 24"/61cm and then begin decreases as usual. If you have an accurate scale and can weigh your yarn, all the better.
Needles & Notions: US size 5/3.75mm needles OR size needed to get proper gauge, yarn needle, 2 stitch markers
