Inspired by the ever-changing tapestry of nature, this cowl is knit using the opposite ends of a color-shifting Blossom, to create a colorwork scroll detail with just one cake of yarn. Folded hems on either end lend a polished look to this cozy, colorwork cowl.
Yarn: Wonderland Yarns “Mary Ann Blossom” sock/fingering weight, 475 yards/4 oz skein; 85% superwash merino & 15% nylon: 1 cake: shown in “Lichen”
Note on yarn colorway: This design has you working the colorwork details from both ends of the cake at once. It is best if your yarn colorway has contrasting colors at each end (i.e. the center of the cake and the outside of the cake). Choose which end you prefer to be MC, we started with the darker end (MC) and used the lighter end (CC) for the colorwork details.
Needles & Notions: US size 5/3.75mm circular needles, 16"-20"/40-50cm long OR size needed to get proper gauge, yarn needle, stitch marker(s) (1 to mark start of round, optional 4 more to mark pattern repeats), extra needle & scrap yarn for provisional cast-on (optional)
Gauge: 26 sts & 31 rounds = 4"/10 cm in stockinette stitch, approximately
Measurements: 23"/58cm around & 9"/23cm tall (additional yarn remains if a taller cowl is desired)
